What If?
As a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach and behaviour change expert, my desire is to inspire, motivate and help you by empowering you to make a shift to live a happier and healthier lifestyle. Are you living the way you want today? Do you feel well when you wake up every day? Do you have the energy to do the things you want? Do you invest in yourself? Do you feel worthy of the changes you want to make? I can tell you that you are worthy.
We choose our future with the actions we take towards better health today. People who work with me are thinking about their future and how the actions they take today can support their overall wellness. They do not want to keep feeling the way they feel today and believe they can reduce autoimmune symptoms and reduce inflammation in the body with lifestyle changes including nutrition, movement, stress management and sleep.
My focus is on women struggling with the experience of hair loss or alopecia. As your ally, my mission is to co-create a wellness plan with you to support living the balanced life that you truly deserve. As women, we often talk about finding balance, but what if we CREATED that balance instead?
The quality of what we eat and other lifestyle factors' influence on our bodies is something we will explore together. I believe that self-care is not selfish and as women, we give so much more to everyone else. What if you did something for yourself?

My Journey
Hi, I'm Tara and I understand the overwhelming panic of hair loss. As someone with alopecia, my hair loss journey took me down a road of profound sadness, but in the end I refused to let alopecia break me. One of the reasons I became a Health Coach was to support women on their own path. I promise you, a healthy and happy life can be on the other side of hair loss.
Where there is one autoimmune disease, there are often more, and that is my experience, too. I also have celiac disease and Hashimoto's.
In my own journey towards healing and wellness, I worked on what we know of as the five pillars in functional medicine. This truly changed the way I view health and wellness and helped me work towards healing inflammation contributing to multiple autoimmune conditions. I learned how to introduce healing foods into my diet. I focused on food as medicine, started a meditation practice, was careful about the thoughts I told myself, created a solid sleep pattern, among other things. I love strength training and various forms of exercise, so movement was never an issue for me, but my shift to the focus on the five pillars and the science of how genes do not determine our destiny lead to an understanding of how we can use lifestyle factors to promote health and support longevity.
I have learned that little steps add up to significant results over time. It's not all or nothing. Optimal health is different for everyone, but I am motivated by the question: How do you want to get out of bed when you are 70?
Who I Work With
How many of you have said or thought:
-
I know I need to make changes to support my health, why can I not seem to prioritize myself and do them?
-
I know that what I eat has an impact on my autoimmune disease and I would like to do an elimination diet to see if food sensitivities are contributing to my autoimmune symptoms.
-
I want to have lasting results, no more rollercoaster of trying to be healthier and not sticking with it.
-
This hair loss is devastating, why is this happening to me?
-
Where do I start to make my health a priority?
-
I am done with the injections and the pills to stop my hair from falling out. I wonder what this is doing to my body.
-
I have hair loss and I have come to terms with it, but I want to improve my health to feel better in my body.
On their path to better health, I often work with women experiencing what I refer to as the intention—behavior gap. We often have an intention, but our behaviors do not match that intention. Behind an intention, there are a lot of "I should do this" or "I need to do that", but what if you could turn those intentions into practice by creating habits that lead to meaningful and sustainable change? Together, we will explore your overall wellness goals and outcomes of how you want to live your life as support for the changes you desire to make. People I work with lose weight, have more energy and less inflammation. Let’s work together to create the best health of your life!
